Albert Eng - Principal and Founder

Albert Eng is the Principal of CTT-Squared, bringing decades of leadership in complex transformation and M&A execution for Fortune 500 companies and high-growth enterprises. His career has been defined by leading organizations through critical inflection points—from transaction strategy through post-close integration and value realization.

Albert is known for seamlessly bridging strategy and execution. His expertise spans the full M&A lifecycle—from developing detailed day-one plans and transition playbooks to engaging corporate boards, steering committees, and senior stakeholders on strategic decision-making. Having held leadership roles across Corporate Development, IT, Operations, and Finance, Albert understands the cross-functional collaboration and KPI discipline required to deliver integration success.

Specializing in transition risk mitigation, governance design, execution management, and change leadership, Albert has deep command of Big Four post-merger methodologies. He has not only partnered with leading consulting firms but also led and elevated their work, designing and running Transition Management Offices (TMOs) to ensure operational continuity and synergy delivery. His sector expertise includes Insurance, Capital Markets, Finance, HR, Private Credit, Asset Management, and Technology.

Recently, Albert served as Head of M&A Transitions within Guardian Life’s Corporate Development group, executing post-close integration and separation activities. He led the $26 billion HPS Partners transition, transferring private credit assets, technology, and teams to implement a new sub-advisory model. He also directed transition efforts for other strategic initiatives, including an $8 billion reinsurance deal with Talcott Re, the divestiture of Reed Group to Alight, and the carve-out of Avesis to Cressey Partners. He was known for his roll-up your sleeves approach, leaving no stone unturned.

Earlier, at TIAA, Albert led a number of Integration Management Office (IMO) intiatives; in particular, for the firm’s landmark acquisition of Nuveen Investments. He was responsible for collaborating directly with executive leadership. His prior experience includes senior operating roles at Citigroup, AIG, and DXC, where he managed integrations, divestitures, and operational transformations. In Private Equity, Albert served as a senior operating advisor to Cerberus Capital Management, supporting the Daimler-Chrysler carve-out and Freedom Arms roll-up, and conducting diligence across dozens of portfolio companies.

Albert is known for his adaptive leadership style, able to engage at both the strategic and hands-on levels to drive results. Whether guiding executive steering committees or leading day-to-day integration teams, he brings the clarity, structure, and execution rigor required to make M&A initiatives succeed.

Ivan Pooran Pabon

Ivan is a highly esteemed Global Executive with over three and a half decades of experience spanning multiple geographies and the Banking and Insurance industry. He has held various leadership positions at esteemed Global 500 companies, including Citigroup, General Electric (GE), Banco Santander, and Guardian Life of America. His responsibilities have encompassed Chief Operational Risk Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Chief Credit and Country Officer, Audit Director, Business Head, and Senior Credit Officer, where he has successfully managed business growth opportunities, adhered to regulatory requirements, divested businesses, and addressed evolving risks and program developments. As a Managing Director, he has led large and senior teams in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and CEMEA. His ability to integrate and assimilate local cultures, coupled with his proven track record of developing world-class teams, is a testament to his exceptional career achievements. Ivan’s unwavering adherence to ethical and professional standards, coupled with his resilient personal leadership attributes, has garnered him the respect of companies, industry peers, and regulatory authorities.

Ivan’s recent accomplishments include the development of an Industry-accoladed Risk Program at Guardian, which encompassed a Business Risk Program, a Third Party Risk Framework, Resilience Programs, and Artificial Intelligence and Climate Risk Governance Programs. These programs integrated with other Risk disciplines such as Compliance, Data Risk, and Information Security. His experience in these related Risk fields provided a more holistic, efficient, and effective framework for the Enterprise. Additionally, he managed Consumer and Commercial lending portfolios and was directly responsible for Citigroup’s Business turnaround during the 2008-2010 crisis in Spain.

At GE, Santander USA, and Citigroup Global, Ivan was instrumental in developing Regulatory Risk Frameworks and remediation that led to Regulatory approvals for continued Business growth. His Audit experience in EMEA/CEMEA provided him with solid control oversight, which proved crucial to Business leaders in the Region. During his tenure in Brazil, he led the Small and Medium Segment as Business Head for Santander Brazil, complementing his Risk and Control experience with Revenue-generating responsibilities. He was also a key player in the acquisitions of major Brazilian banks during 2000-2003.

Currently, Ivan serves on his Alma Mater’s Risk Committee and the Board of a startup Company in the West Indies. Ivan resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is actively involved in his community.

Michael Basso

Michael Basso is a transformational technology leader with over 20 years of experience driving technology transformations and operational excellence for multinational, industry-leading organizations. Roles spanned from Chief Information Officer for Corporate Applications to Head of Workplace Technology, Head of Technology Operations, and Service Management. Michael has led teams of over 250 colleagues globally and directed 10’s of millions of dollars in managed services.   His strategic vision and leadership have been instrumental in aligning IT strategies with business objectives, fostering innovation, and delivering measurable outcomes that enhance colleague experiences and support organizational growth.

Throughout his career, Michael has spearheaded complex IT transformations and integrations, partnering with executive leadership to develop and execute multiyear technology roadmaps. His notable achievements include centralizing 12 help desks into a unified service desk, leading a $6.2M technology integration across multiple offices, and transitioning enterprise collaboration tools to a single platform, significantly boosting team productivity. Michael's approach combines strategic agility with hands-on execution, enabling organizations to navigate technology disruption while achieving long-term value.
